Requirements
Before you apply, please carefully read the following:
CONTRACTOR REQUIREMENTS
- 3 years recent verifiable over the road experience
- Clean motor vehicle record (CDL endorsements for Tank and Doubles required; hazmat is desirable..)
- Verifiable Random DOT drug test results for last two years.
- No felony, No DUIs or DWIs in the last five years.
EQUIPMENT REQUIREMENTS
- Sliding 5th wheel
- 1999 or newer Model Tractor is preferred. (if older send a picture of all 4 sides and current d.o.t. annual inspection)
Required with in 90 days:
- Headache rack
- 6 – 4” straps & 6 – 4” portable ratchet-type winches
- 6 – 20’ chains & binders
Suggested additional equipment:
- Long sliding 5th wheel
- Light bar
- Pintle Hook, Ball Hitch and Electric Brakes
LEASING PROCEDURES
- Complete and return the enclosed application.
- If your tractor is older than a 1999 model, include a recent photo of the tractor.
Include the following with your application:
- Title copy or Application for Title
- Copy of current Form 2290 (Stamped paid by the IRS)
- Valid Annual DOT Inspection of equipment
- Long form physical
Once your application is approved, we will schedule a date for you to come to Griffith, Indiana with your equipment to attend orientation (2 days). Powersource will furnish one-night lodging and your lunches.
BOBTAIL INSURANCE
- Certificate of Insurance must be provided.
- Can be purchased through Powersource Transportation Inc. (Group policy) @ the cost of $45.00 per month.* Deductible = $2,500.00
* $45.00 due at time of sign-on for the 1st month premium.
OCCUPATIONAL/ACCIDENT: REQUIRED
- Certificate of Insurance must be provided.
- Can be purchased through Powersource Transportation Inc. (Group policy) @ the cost of $150.00 per month. *
* $150.00 due at time of sign-on for the 1st month premium.
$2500.00 ESCROW
- You are required to put $250.00 down at sign on. $75.00 will be deducted from your settlements until the full amount is in escrow.
- In the event the contract is terminated, these monies will be returned forty-five days after receipt of all property belonging to Powersource Transportation Inc. & provided all financial obligations to Powersource Transportation Inc. are met.

* Powersource Transportation, Inc.’s dispatch system requires you to have a cell phone. The cell phone must be active prior to orientation.
AT ORIENTATION - WHAT TO EXPECT
Powersource’s Orientation program is an extensive welcome to new contractors, aimed at providing a warm and in-depth introduction to the company, what we do, and what we’re about. The two-day program, beginning either on Monday or Wednesday at 8 a.m. CST, covers a broad spectrum of topics. Attendees learn about Powersource’s history and the logistics of a day with the company, including accounting, sales, operations, and safety. When each program is concluded, new contractors are ready to make an impact.
Dispatch will be received from the Griffith, IN office on the 2nd day.
